Due to the time it takes to conduct employment references, they are often overlooked by the employer. The downside is that many cases of fraud could be avoided simply by taking up previous employee references.
Capita Recruitment Vetting Service conduct three or five year employment checks to give you peace of mind that what your applicant is stating is true.
The checks confirm all aspects of employment history - employment dates, position held, job performance, attitude, skills, attendance record and reasons for leaving / termination. The checks also include any unaccounted time on CVs and verify gaps in employment or claims to travelling etc.
Some companies are reticent to offer detailed information on previous employees or operate policies not to give detailed references, however our experienced staff will gain as much information as possible and will note any difficulties encountered.
Employment Reference Checks are gained by telephone, with the applicant’s signed consent faxed to the previous employers.
Where the role is regulated, Capita Recruitment Vetting Service will also provide references in line with FSA Regulations.
