Capita Recruitment Vetting Service offer three options to check applicants’ identity:
Option 1. Online ID Checking
URU™ is the first application that has been designed and built specifically for the purpose of verifying candidate identity. A unique data matching engine, powered by ID3® technology, ensures that the customer details you have been given are matched against the widest possible range of data sources.
Financial services organisations also need to incorporate document checks into their ID verification processes. ID3 technology can authenticate documents such as passports, utility bills and payment cards by checking the data inherent in the document against other personal data sources in a powerful anti-impersonation check. It will also highlight counterfeit documents in less than one second. Our secure service can help ensure your potential employee really is who they say they are.
However, URU offers an anti-impersonation check that goes far beyond simply verifying document numbers. By cross referencing the data that is inherent within the document number, URU can help establish:
- Is the document valid and does it actually belong to the person presenting it?
- Is the data in the document number consistent with that given earlier by the customer?
Option 2. Veri-fy (Not available for Disclosure Scotland checks)
Capita Recruitment Vetting Service also use the Veri-fy service to check applicant’s ID. Applicant’s take the Veri-fy form, together with chosen forms of identification (one of which must be an original form of photo identification e.g. Passport, Photo Card Driving Licence one piece of ID must show their current address e.g. Utility Bill / Bank Statement) to their local Post Office. A Post Office representative will then verify their identification documents. The Post Office will then forward the completed Veri-fy Form, to Capita Recruitment Vetting Service for processing.
Option 3. Manual Checking (Not available as part of the criminal records process)
Applicants send their information to Capita by post and Capita will verify the applicant’s identity. This will include:
- Name
- Date of birth
- Mother's maiden name
- Address
- Appearance on various databases, e.g. the eligibility to vote.
- National Insurance number
A selection of documents and records used will include:
