Capita Recruitment Vetting Service offer two options to check applicants’ identity:


Option 1. Veri-fy (Not available for Disclosure Scotland checks)

Capita Recruitment Vetting Service also use the Veri-fy service to check applicant’s ID. Applicant’s take the Veri-fy form, together with chosen forms of identification (one of which must be an original form of photo identification e.g. Passport, Photo Card Driving Licence one piece of ID must show their current address e.g. Utility Bill / Bank Statement) to their local Post Office. A Post Office representative will then verify their identification documents. The Post Office will then forward the completed Veri-fy Form, to Capita Recruitment Vetting Service for processing.


Option 2. Manual Checking (Not available as part of the criminal records process)

Applicants send their information to Capita by post and Capita will verify the applicant’s identity. This will include:


  • Name
  • Date of birth
  • Mother's maiden name
  • Address
  • Appearance on various databases, e.g. the eligibility to vote
  • National Insurance number


A selection of documents and records used will include:


  • Passport
  • Driving Licence
  • Birth or Marriage certificate
  • Bank statement
  • Utility bill
  • Benefits/Tax documents
  • Payslips
  • Educational qualifications


Recorded or Special Delivery is recommended with this process to ensure safe retrieval of ID documents.
